As a Christian I never knew about God touching his people and they fall to the ground. Some call it slain in the spirit. I saw it on TV a couple of times but was only focused on whether the preacher was pushing the people down on floor or not as he prayed for them. I never thought about or knew that God was actually touching His people. I came to know that God was actually touching the people in a Rodney Howard-Browne meeting in 1993. This is how I got the revelation: I lived in Springhill, FL and worked in Tampa, Florida. My sister invited me to her church where Rodney Howard-Browne was preaching at as a guest speaker. She told me no matter how late you get off of work come to the meeting. So the first meeting that I went to I arrived late. Rodney Howard-Browne was preaching and I stood at the entrance doors listening. He told a joke and I chuckled, thinking to myself that was good. The people were laughing and they kept on laughing. Then I thought to myself come on they are going overboard here. Then suddenly I felt embarrassed for him because I thought the people were only laughing to make him feel at ease because he was the guest speaker. Next he calls a lady up to pray for her and she fell out in the spirit. Then I thought wow, I saw this on TV so I walked to the second row and looked at the lady lying on the floor and then suddenly I said (not out loud but inside my heart I cried to God) Oh God! This is you! My eyes were fixed on the lady's feet then I saw her laughing but I heard crying. I could not understand why I heard crying when she was laughing. Then I heard the Lord say to me I am taking all those bad dreams away from you. You see as a very young child my dad beat my mom up on several times. When I reached my teen years I would wake up crying because in the dreams I would hear my mother crying. It even stayed with me as and adult. But since this encounter with God I have had no more of those dreams. Jesus took it away! I am so thankful to the Lord for the ministry of Rodney Howard-Browne.
